News 2010: Motorbase Performance Wins Porsche Carrera Cup GB Team Prize

October 14th

Motorbase PerformanceMotorbase Performance was confirmed as team champions in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB during a dramatic final round at Brands Hatch (10 October).

The coveted team championship was only decided in the final five laps of the 2010 season as the Motorbase squad moved ahead of Red Line Racing with Michael Caine and Charlie Bateman scoring for the Kent-based team headed by David Bartrum.

Bartrum says it's been quite a year for his team, which runs separate teams in the Carrera Cup and the BTCC. "I'm very proud of Motorbase's achievements this year in all areas. I'm proud of the drivers and the whole team. It was a phenomenal season for Motorbase and our biggest campaign on record. It was probably the single biggest operation at this level and a credit to everyone involved that we maintained our quality in all areas. We've had a fantastic crew all year."

Porsche Carrera Cup GB Team ChampionsBartrum admitted that winning the team title was a major gap in the Motorbase Carrera Cup record. "I wanted the team championship for Motorbase," said Bartrum. "We've been in the Carrera Cup for a few years and hadn't won it.

"Everything about the Carrera Cup is very professional and it is a lovely environment with a great crew of people. It means a lot to me to win the team championship and Sunday at Brands when we won it was probably the single most special moment for a long time. Simon Leonard at Red Line Racing was a great sport over the team championship."

Already, Bartrum and the Motorbase crew are turning their attention to the 2011 season. "I enjoy everything about Porsche and we are a Porsche team through and through. We started there and I hope we continue to be so."
