Motorbase Performance's preparations for the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup stepped up a notch after taking delivery of six brand new 911 GT3 Cup cars.

The Wrotham-based team, who won the Porsche Carrera Cup Teams' Championship last season, picked up their new cars from German manufacturer's British headquarters at Reading on Friday (March 12).

The latest 911 GT3 Cup car is stronger, faster and wider than it's predecessor and will now develop 450 horse power. Michael Caine, Tim Harvey, George Richardson and Steve Parish have already been confirmed to fill four of the seats at Motorbase this season.

A delighted Team Principal David Bartrum said: "It's awesome. When we turned up at Porsche GB headquarters and saw six cars marked up with our name on them, it was quite something. It's hard to put into words because I've never had so much going on at Motorbase before. We have nine new cars in the showroom since Christmas, but when you get six brand new 911's to latest specifications you think, "How lucky are we?"

"It's probably one of the high points of what we have done at the team. For me personally it's special because there are drivers who have faith in Motorbase to drive these, which shows how far we've come."

The team will test the cars for the first time this week, before the championship's media day at Snetterton on March 22. The 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup begins at Brands Hatch on April 2-3.
