Harvey and Motorbase Team Up for Carrera Cup GB

Tim Harvey will race for Motorbase Performance this season as he bids to defend his title in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, rejoining David Bartrum's team after a four-year stint with Red Line Racing.
Oxford-based Harvey says that renewing his association with Motorbase and racing alongside Michael Caine will give him the best chance of claiming a third Carrera Cup crown, with continued backing from Nationwide, Datapulse and Loctite. Harvey rejoins Motorbase as the most successful driver in Carrera Cup GB history, with 35 race wins and 105 podium finishes from 144 race starts.
"I'm very grateful to David for giving me the opportunity to rejoin his team," said Harvey. "I know how good Motorbase is and I know how good a car Michael had last year." Harvey last raced with Motorbase in 2006, when he also partnered Caine. "I wanted the most competitive package I can get and Motorbase can deliver that. I'm very confident that the team can put out a car that is equal, if not better, to that of anyone else."
Harvey won the title in both 2008 and 2010 and has been runner-up three times since he joined the Carrera Cup fulltime in 2004. "I know we can win the championship again and I'm very grateful to Michael for allowing me to join him in the team," said Harvey. "I'm looking forward to working with him and I hope one of us wins the title. We will certainly mount a strong challenge for the Team Championship."
Harvey is pleased to be renewing a long-standing association with Bartrum. "David runs an excellent team and I'm excited about working with him again. David is a real racer and is great fun to work with."
Harvey, like all the drivers in the Carrera Cup GB, will be racing the latest model 450-bhp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and will have a first major test session at the championship pre-season test and media day at Snetterton on 22 March. The first two races of the season will be at Brands Hatch on 2/3 April.
