Motorbase Performance makes it 3-in-a-row at Brands Hatch

Motorbase Performance claimed its third consecutive Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship pole position in front of a delighted home crowd earlier today with a stellar qualifying performance from Mat Jackson on the Brands Hatch GP loop (October 10th).

After taking an early lead in the thirty minute session, 34-year-old Jackson held off stiff competition to claim the top spot with a best time of 1:30.685, smashing the previous qualifying lap record by almost half a second.

Drivecool ambassador James Cole will start race one from P16 in the #44 Focus ST after posting a time of 1:31.646 in the closely fought session – just under a second off pole position.

Mat Jackson claimed his third consecutive qualifying pole on the GP loop"Every pole is special but to get pole here at Brands Hatch, our home circuit, feels extra special;" said Motorbase Performance Team Principal David Bartrum. "It's a fitting end to the season and I'm very much looking forward to standing in that pole position tomorrow, surrounded by people we know well. We get a lot of support here which means a great deal to the team and I'm delighted that we've given them something to cheer about today.

"There's been a lot of moaning about our engine over the last few weeks, and I should think poor old Peter Riches is going to need new ears soon!" added Bartrum. "We've shown today that it's not all about the engine.  This is a renowned chassis circuit and the boys have done a really good job on the chassis – not to take anything away from the mountune engine – but the results are a combination of the chassis, engine and driver all being in the zone at the right time."

The 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season finale featuring rounds 28, 29 and 30 gets underway on the Brand Hatch GP loop tomorrow, October 11th with live coverage on ITV4 and itv.com from 10.15am – 6.30pm.
