Motorbase duo eyeing success on Donington Return

Motorbase Performance is hoping for a return to winning ways when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship arrives at Donington Park circuit this coming weekend (April 16/17) for rounds 4,5 and 6 of the 2016 season.

Donington Park has been the scene of success for David Bartrum's Motorbase squad in past seasons, with Mat Jackson steering the Ford Focus ST to victory here in 2011 and 2012. Likewise, local favourite and 2013 BTCC Champion Andrew Jordan will be hoping for home advantage on the historic Leicestershire circuit as he looks to add to his race win tally and secure a maiden podium in the striking Pirtek Racing Focus.

Jordan is hoping for hope advantage at his local circuit this weekendHaving claimed points finishes in all three opening rounds at Brands Hatch just two weeks ago, Motorbase Performance heads into the second weekend of the season in good form sitting in second place in both the overall team standings and independent team standings, with Andrew Jordan and Mat Jackson currently placed 3rd and 5th in the independent drivers' championship.

The weekend's action gets underway at Donington Park on April 16/17. Live coverage of Sunday's events will be shown on ITV4, itv.com and also in HD from 10.30am – 6pm; with itv.com featuring live streaming online of Saturday's qualifying session between 3.40 and 4.10pm. Quotes:

Mat Jackson confident heading into Donington roundTeam Manager Oly Collins:
"Brands was a good start to the season, however we now want more. We had good pace in the cars at the first round which is great to build on but moving on to Donington the aim is to achieve the podium results that we know we can.

"We're lying 2nd in the Teams Championship ahead of three Manufacturer Teams which is a credit to the whole team and the people behind the scenes as well as the drivers. It's a really competitive Championship this year and there is very little between us all at the front despite the fact we're all learning the new suspension this year. It has all the makings of being a very interesting Championship again this year!"

#7 Mat Jackson:
"Taking the positives away from Brands Hatch - the results didn't really tell the whole story and we were certainly capable of a lot more and could easily have been challenging for podiums.  We made good progress with the car and here's no reason at all why we shouldn't be back fighting at the front of the pack this weekend.

Andrew Jordan looking to step a gear at Donington"Donington is a great circuit to race at and we've had some great results there over the years so I'm confident that we're in good shape heading into the weekend."

#77 Andrew Jordan:
"I'm looking forward to Donington, I've won there in the past and it's my home event so I always get a lot of local support there. It's a great old school circuit, really fast and flowing and it always makes for great racing.

"It was nice to get Brands out of the way in one respect and to get some points in the bag, but I want to step it up a gear in terms of outright pace and I think we can do that this weekend."
