One of British motorsport’s most decorated and successful racing drivers, Dan Cammish makes the most welcome of returns to the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship this season after joining Motorbase-run NAPA Racing.

Leeds 32-year-old Dan, who won a record-breaking third Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship crown last year, is one of the undoubted favourites for the 2022 BTCC title as he reverts back to front-wheel drive with his NAPA Racing liveried hybrid Ford Focus ST.

Dan’s talent in cars has been obvious from the beginning of his career, not least in 2013 when he scorched to a remarkable championship victory in Formula Ford EcoBoost where he won every single race, 24 in total. This success also earned him the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Goodyear/Dunlop Prize Test, at the wheel of a Motorbase BTCC Ford Focus.

After winning back-to-back Porsche Carrera Cup crowns in 2015 and 2016, he just missed a third title in 2017 in a dovetailed season where he also raced in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, winning at world famous Le Mans and finishing second in the Formula One support race in Monte-Carlo.

Switching to the BTCC the following season, claiming two outright wins in his debut year in a Honda Civic, Dan starred in 2019 with two more victories and 12 other podiums – just missing out on a famous title triumph after suffering a mechanical failure in the final race. Four more wins followed in 2020, where he was third in the standings for a second consecutive year.
